Shenzhen, China - Hopewind, a pioneer in advanced energy solutions, announced the official inauguration of the Grid-Forming Energy Storage Research and Development Center in Shenzhen. With an investment of over 10 million BRL, this significant initiative, led by the Municipal Development and Reform Commission of Shenzhen, highlights Hopewind's commitment to advancing innovations in grid-forming energy storage technology. Upon completion, this research center will become an important research institution in the field of renewable energy, leading the vigorous development of grid-forming energy storage technology and industry worldwide.
In the rapidly developing energy sector, grid stability is crucial due to the growth of renewable energy sources. Hopewind's new research center will address challenges such as intermittent generation, voltage fluctuations, and grid instability. By focusing on innovative energy storage architecture, control technology, and engineering applications, Hopewind aims to develop efficient, safe, and economical grid-forming energy storage systems.
As a leader in the energy storage sector, Hopewind continuously leverages its technical strengths and has developed several top-tier energy storage products. The company now offers centralized energy storage PCS ranging from 2.5 to 3.45 MW and integrated DC-DC converters and voltage boosters ranging from 1.0 to 6.9 MW, all equipped with grid-forming capabilities. These products are designed to actively respond to transient voltage changes in the grid, providing up to three times the transient current support and maintaining it for 10 seconds, real-time inertia response, and primary frequency regulation for grid frequency changes.
Keeping up with market trends, Hopewind also launched a 1500V/250kW string PCS at Intersolar this year, designed for utility and C&I energy storage scenarios. This product features a modular design to avoid single-point failures and allows for flexible capacity expansion, facilitating maintenance. It uses a battery cluster management model, effectively addressing parallel battery circulation current issues, thus increasing system lifespan and performance. In terms of reliability, the product has an IP66 protection rating, with a corrosion-resistant option from C3 to C5, providing greater adaptability to the environment.
